#Support Iconemesis

Being a small blogger myself, I'm always happy to support small companies/ brands on my blog and share my little part of the internet. I was recently contacted by Iconemesis, to discuss their new range of iPhone cases. Iconemesis is a British accessories brand, who focus primarily on limited edition iPhone cases, designed by independent artists and illustrators - cool or what? The company were kind enough to send me this adorable Fifi Lapin teacup bunny design! There are lots of different designs in the collection, so go take a look!

Iconemesis currently feature on website, Indiegogo - a place dedicated to finding new talent and giving small and relatively unknown brands, like Iconemesis, global exposure to help build brand awareness. There are lots of inspirational ideas on Indiegogo, so definitely check them out too! For more information, and if you would like to support Iconemesis, read about the campaign here!

* Wish Want Wear *

Hello Lovelies!

I was recently contacted by the lovely girls over at Wish Want Wear, asking if I would like to review their service in exchange for a free hire of one of their designer dresses. Now, annoyingly, I had just had my graduation ball and ceremony (which I already had dresses for...), so unfortunately I did not have a fancy event to go to. Nevertheless, being a self-confessed lover of fashion, particularly dresses, (do I even wear anything else?!) who could pass on such an opportunity?!

Wish Want Wearare unique. They are the UK’s leading designer dress hire company, working with a whole range of designers (Temperley London, Cavalli, Missoni, and Herve Leger) to make their clothes accessible to girls all over the country, at a fraction of the price. You simply hire a designer dress, select the date you want to wear it, feel fabulous all night long, and then return it in the post when you’re done. Wish Want Wear even take care of the dry cleaning and insurance, so no worries if you have one too many glasses of wine...

The online company was started by three girls, who like most women, love fashion, especially designer clothing. However, after desperately lusting over numerous items, they realised their student budgets would not allow them to buy the clothes they really want to own. From this, 'WWW' was born, allowing us girls to hire out and wear any designer dress we wanted, without having to remortgage our homes. I think this is a genius idea, because lets face it, most of us only wear our ‘special occasion’ dresses once, and then leave them to collect dust in our wardrobes, never to be worn again... (Guilty!!).

Yes, this post is sponsored, however I believe a blogger should always give a true account of every experience they have with a brand. My experience of 'WWW' is a fantastic one, and the service I received was great. Since I already owned a few ball gowns, I decided to opt for a classic glitzy cocktail dress instead. The website had a great range of dresses, suitable for every occasion, ranging from formal prom to casual drinks with the girls. I picked my dress online, it arrived on the day I selected and I even received a text from the delivery man letting me know it was on it’s way. I was also sent two dress sizes, to guarantee the dress would fit (Perfect for me as I am sometimes between sizes, I swear I’m a UK size 9).

This sparkling number is by designer brand Scala and only £45 to hire for a whole weekend. I found the sizing of the dress to be very generous, and although I am wearing a size 8, it was still quite big. I think sizing with designers dresses completely depends on the brand and it can sometimes be a hit or miss. Although slightly big, I loved wearing this dress and can safely say I was gutted when it was time to return. This is a perfect dress to wear if you want to stand, or even shine, out of the crowd and will definitely get you noticed!

Finally, what you've all been waiting for! Wish Want Wear have recently launched a Student Style Collection, offering gorgeous prom/ball gowns to hire for just £60 or less, allowing budget-orientated students to look and feel amazing, without breaking the bank. If you are currently studying, simply contact campus@wishwantwear.com or call 0207 3724 607 to obtain your unique discount code. If you’re not a student but still lusting over that designer dress for that all important occasion, head over to Wish Want Wear and I promise you won't be disappointed!

* Graduation Ball 2014 *

Dress - eBay (Originally Monsoon)
Bag - eBay (Originally M&S)
Shoes - Kurt Geiger

Hello Lovelies!

Well, it's been a week of never-ending graduation celebrations! Last Wednesday I graduated, and then on the Thursday I attended my university's graduation ball, which was such a glamorous night! I absolutely loved getting to dress up and look fancy, especially with all my gorgeous friends around me. The night was filled with great food, music and lots (I mean lots!) of dancing! Now this may shock some of you, but two thirds of my outfit came from eBay! I couldn't find a dress in town that I loved and after spending an evening trawling online, I managed to win the bag for £5.99 and the dress for an unbelievable £12!! - Best bargains ever or what?!

I had a fantastic night and I'm now sad to say goodbye to many of my uni friends, who are off to travel the globe and/or venture into the big bad world of employment. After the busy week I've had, all I want to do now is put my feet up with a cup of tea and some biscuits. Growing up can wait.

Hats Off !

White Lace Dress - H&M
Black Block Heels - New Look

Hello lovelies!

So that's it; I've finally graduated! I spent a slightly different, yet memorable day wearing a black and white graduation gown and classic mortarboard. It's quite the Harry Potter experience wearing one of these flowing gowns, and throughout the day I felt I could have been transported to Hogwarts at any moment.

I took inspiration from my own graduation style advice [found here], and wore a white lace dress from H&M, and black block heels from New Look. I swear these shoes are the comfiest I own, and served me well as I crossed the stage to collect my degree, with luckily no mishaps or falls. I'm so sad to be moving on from my uni days and the great friends I've made over the last four years, but I'm very excited for the next chapter in my life to begin!

Congratulations and hats off to all who have graduated this year!

* Class of 2014 *

Hello lovelies!

If you follow me on Instagram, you'd know that I was absolutely delighted, and completely over the moon to find out I'll be receiving a First Class Honours degree! I can't even begin to describe how happy/ relieved/ emotional I was when I found out my classification. It was like a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders and everything was now ok in the world. Ok, tad extreme but it definitely felt amazing!!

So, it's about time I got ready! My uni has a strict black/white dress code, which leaves little to the imagination. I've put together a few black and white themed outfits to give you all inspiration, as I know many will be graduating around this time. Congratulations to everyone who has graduated this year, what an achievement!

Graduation 2014

For those in favour of white, a classic, lace dress adds a sweet and summery touch to a rather boring afternoon. I advise you wear comfortable, yet stylish block heel shoes, which will allow you to walk easily on stage when receiving your degree - you don't want to be that person who falls! Add a smart, tailored blazer to take the outfit from day to night. Remember to add a statement necklace and glitter nails, to make sure you really stand out!

Graduation 2014

For those in favour of black, an elegant and classic LBD is always perfect. Accessorise with delicate, understated jewellery which will still give you a timeless look. Instead of a blazer, why not pair with a boucle jacket for your afternoon lunch with the family, adding a slight casual element. Simple, on trend heeled sandals will be the perfect finishing touch.

Graduation 2014

For those in favour of skirts and trousers, I advise you be practical with comfortable clothing, a sturdy bag and flat shoes. Although it sounds dull, it doesn't have to be. Team a sweet lace top with a flattering high-waisted pencil skirt or tapered trousers. Accessorise with fun ballet pumps, classic jewellery and stylish sunglasses for a sunny day. This formal look can easily be transferable to dinner in the evening; just add a statement necklace, or a pair of high heels.

Neon Jungle

Neon Pink Dress - Red Label

Hello lovelies!

So the sun is shining and this bright, pink neon dress from Red Label is making me want to go on holiday again! I wore this dress on my recent trip to Barcelona (See the posts here) and it was the perfect addition to my summer suitcase. There are two great things about this dress; it's perfect to wear in a busy city or to an event, as you definitely could not get lost in a crowd wearing this bright number, and even better - it's currently on sale! Go, go, go!

Anyone For Tennis?

Yellow Top - H&M
White Skirt - Warehouse
Silver Heels - Kurt Geiger
Studded Clutch - Primark
Necklace - Vintage

Hello lovelies!

I guess you could say that this outfit has been inspired by the tennis tournament, Wimbledon. The yellow and white combination is the perfect outfit for a day down in London, munching on strawberries and sipping on Cava! I'm a little gutted that fellow Scot, Andy Murray never made it to the final, however very happy for father-to-be Djokovic!

Now, I never usually shop at Warehouse, but this white skirt caught my eye last week. The quality, shape and fit of this item is just so gorgeous, I'm really impressed and will definitely shop there again. I love this skirt so much in fact, I've bought it in black as well! I suppose they do say when you love something you should buy it in every colour available! I also picked up these shiny Kurt Geiger beauties last week and they are the perfect accessory to all my summer outfits.

* Wedding Outfit Inspiration *

Hello lovelies!

The wedding season is quickly approaching, and so I thought it would be a good idea to share with you some wedding outfit advice. I've chosen three wedding scenarios that you may find yourselves in one day; The Plus One, A Family Affair and Best Friend's Wedding. Let me know which is your favourite!

So you've been invited to a wedding, but you don't seem to actually know anyone? My advice is to play it safe with a solid silhouette and classic shapes. Wear a dress which is comfortable, and has a simple block colour or pattern. Team with a smart blazer to give you that all-round formal style. I would advise you invest in high-street items that can be easily transferable for other occasions and events. Most weddings are semi-formal, but if you are unsure of the dress code, stick to a fairly conservative style - Think Kate Middleton.

It's the annual family wedding and everyone, including your great aunt Ethel is invited, so you're going to want to look your best. Feminine floral patterns and styles are always popular for Spring/Summer weddings, and will guarantee you get the approval of your grandmother. Keep it on trend by adding statement jewellery and a bright flash of colour on your lips. If you don't want to appear too formal, add a hot pink biker jacket and chunky white block heels to toughen up the look - Think Fearne Cotton.

Best Friend's Wedding

This is the event where you can go full on glamour, without distracting from the bride of course! Invest in an elegant and sophisticated look, and pair with simplistic, yet stylish accessories. Minimalistic rose gold shoes and jewellery will add that glamorous touch whilst appearing effortless, and will allow you to keep the look understated, yet chic. You'll be sure to stand out for all the right reasons - Think Victoria Beckham.

I really enjoyed creating these outfits on Polyvore, and it makes a nice change from my usual #OOTD posts. If you like this kind of post, please let me know in the comments below. Also, please leave suggestions of any similar posts you would like to see. :)
