Green Jumper and Black Skirt - Outfit of the Day

The Green Jumper // In one of my recent posts, I talked about some new additions to my wardrobe - this faux leather skirt from Warehouse and dark green jumper from H&M - and I think the two go together rather nicely! I don't own many green items of clothing but couldn't resist this jumper! Sometimes it's great to step out of your clothing comfort zone and choose an item that is new to you - I was excited to wear a different colour and was so happy when this dark green turned out to be a winner - yay!

My Life in Pictures // Instagram

Instagram // Hello all, hope you've had a great week. I'm sharing yet another influx of pictures from my life - most of these pics were taking during the last days of summer, when the light was low, the sun was bright but the wind was harsh. I managed to snap some of the last of the summer flowers before they go to sleep for winter. I also recently finished reading 'I Capture The Castle' by Dodie Smith. It was a fantastic read and will no doubt be sharing a book review with you all soon.

Solo Solis Sunglasses Review 2016

Easy on the Eyes // I absolutely love the arrival of Winter, particularly the low sun that's been exceptionally bright, even tricking me into thinking that some mornings it's still summer? But when I step outside, I'm quickly reminded that it is definitely the start of the colder months. The sun's glare can be particularly tough on the eyes around this time of year especially in the early mornings on my way to work. I was recently contacted by Solo Solis, a wholesale sunglasses company who kindly offered me the chance to review a pair. I opted for these sleek, black and gold glasses that have the quirky name, 'Gold on The Ceiling', inspired by the Black Keys song of the same name... Off to YouTube we go!

Chanel Lookalike Dress - Outfit of the Day

The Chanel Lookalike // Avid blog readers and followers of mine will know that I have a slight obsession with eBay. I love the thrill of winning an auction or discovering a gem at an absolute bargain price. When I saw this dress online, I knew it had to be mine. The dim lighting and poor photography did no justice, but I could tell it would be a beauty. I was instantly drawn to the Chanel similarities. Obviously (and sadly), it's not a Chanel dress - it's actually from New Look, but I'm only sharing that secret with you! ;)

My Life in Pictures // Instagram

Instagram // Hello lovelies, hope you've had a great week. I'm sharing another dose of my daily pictures, sharing all kinds of inspiration and motivational things over on my Instagram account. I've had a slight obsession with purple sunsets/ sunrises lately - I think because they are very relaxing and beautiful to look at - I mean, who doesn't love sunset and sunrise?! I've always been a huge fan of vibrant light, evening skies and low suns - hence the name of this blog, Electric Sunrise. One of my favourite moments to view in nature is a sunrise, and I'll continue to share ones that inspire me.

Kartel Watches Review 2016

Kartel Watches // As you'll probably know from previous posts, I love to collect costume jewellery, whether that be earrings or necklaces. However, slowly but surely, my watch collection has also been growing, and I am so grateful to now add this beautiful Kartel Watch to my collection. I was initially drawn to the big clock face and appealing rose gold details. The strap is made from genuine leather, making this a high-quality piece, perfect for any occasion - smart or casual. The navy blue strap is subtle and matches most of my items perfectly - sometimes navy can be softer than black or silver, and matches the rose gold clock face beautifully.

Blue and Navy Floral Dress - Outfit of the Day

Navy Blue // Navy has always been a colour that I rarely wear but it's one that I'm warming to immensely. It's a classic colour that looks chic with most things, but sadly often gets blindsided by black or grey. I won this dress on eBay last week, and I initially thought it was black. I was quite disappointed when it arrived and I soon realised the true shade was navy blue and pink florals. I'm not actually 100 % sold on this dress yet, but that's definitely the funny thing about eBay - you never know what something will look like until it arrives.

The Secret History by Donna Tartt - Book Review 2016

The Secret History By Donna Tartt // "The snow in the mountains was melting and Bunny had been dead for several weeks before we came to understand the gravity of our situation."

I've never been much of a reader. I need to be captivated instantly before I can completely commit to a book, or I find myself getting bored very quickly and not reading another book for months at a time. I decided one day to change this - I want to get in the habit of reading more and decided to read some 'classic' novels. I decided to start with Donna Tartt's 1992 novel, The Secret History, and boy, am I glad that I did.

I'm Like A Bird - Outfit of the Day

Back To Black // Ahhh, the arrival of Autumn, it's a welcoming sight - the nights get darker, the leaves begin to turn a shade of golden brown, and every second person in the street is sipping on some pumpkin spice. Fun Fact: I've never tried a Starbucks pumpkin spiced latte! It's that time of year when my inner witch vibes come out in full bloom and I embrace everything spooky and gothic. This dress is a good place to start - it's still girly with a cute bird print pattern, but gloomy enough for the arrival of Halloween.

My Life in Pictures // Instagram

Instagram // It will come to no surprise that I'm slightly obsessed with Instagram. It's a platform that allows me search for constant inspiration and fill my mind with ideas to try out. Recently, I've enjoyed searching the social network for delicious recipes to share, particularly when it comes to baking. It's probably due to the return of Bake Off and my never-ending sweet tooth, but it's been fun to share wonderful cakes and creations. I've also been enjoying the last few days of Summer, managing to snap the last flowers in bloom. I'm excited for the arrival of Autumn/ Winter but sad to see the summer flowers fade away.

Fashion Blogs // I remember reading my first ever fashion blog. It was 2009 and I was on my dad's desktop computer in the family office room. A fashion blog. It was not something I had seen before but I instantly fell in love with. Since I can remember, I've been obsessed with fashion. I love to see beautiful clothes worn in a beautiful manner and fashion blogging has opened up a huge world of inspiration for me. There are many blogs I follow religiously and I wanted to share with you all some of my favourite writers and creators that I love to read. Pink and Black Skirt - Outfit of the Day

My New Skirt // There is nothing better than adding a lovely new piece to your wardrobe, particularly a piece that you've been searching for, for what seems like years. I had been on the hunt for a classic, black, leather look skirt which I would be able to wear to work or any other smart occasion. I didn't want the skirt to be too short, or too long for that matter, and was delighted when I spotted this lovely faux leather creation in Warehouse last week. I wasn't initially sold on the croc effect design, but once I tried it on and realised the pattern was quite subtle, I was completely sold. This is the exact skirt I was after, so thank you Warehouse for reading my mind.
